Unfortunate
Rated with 2 out of 5 stars.
Having read so much about Aleppo soap as the most pure and natural soap there is, I didn´t think I could go wrong. Unfortunately as this turns out, this specific product contains glycerine. Why on earth did they put it in there? In my opinion, because of that, it shouldn´t be called Aleppo soap anymore. Yes, it is mentioned in the ingredients list, but not in the product description. I continue to have a really bad flushing reaction after using this soap, due to the glycerin. So, I´ll have to look for a real pure Aleppo soap.

Very traditional soap
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
Excellent natural soap, contains lots of laurel oil which seems to be good for acne and inflamed skin. I would like to comment on a previous review about glycerin, though. Glycerin is a natural side product of the saponification process and most likely they haven't added it separately. Glycerin is present in all traditional soaps made with fat and lye and it would require an extra step in the soapmaking process in order to remove it, and is often only done for bulk industrial soap bars to cut the costs lower. I don't know if Ecco Verde offers any traditional soap without glycerin, since it is naturally present in the process and most people find it beneficial for their skin.
