Phitofilos Pure Hibiscus Powder, 100 g

This powder is made from dried hibiscus flowers. Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) is very well known especially as a tea. This herbaceous plant is native to the West Indies, but is also found in other Asian countries (India, Sri Lanka) and in Africa (Ethiopia, Sudan).

Hibiscus contains various acids (citric, oxalic acid, tartaric acid, malic acid) as well as anthocyanins, tannins and mucilage and phytosterols and pigments that give the leaves their characteristic red color. In Ayurvedic tradition this plant is Jaswand and is used for controlling hair loss. It makes the hair soft and easier to comb and gives it strength and shine. Properly applied, hibiscus has an excellent coloring.

Hibiscus gives the hair a light, violet luster. Mixed with henna, however, it takes a rich red shade - therefore hibiscus is ideal for color blends of cherry, mahogany or chestnut tones.

Application: mix with very hot water to form a paste and apply on the hair.

Hibiscus alone hardly provides coverage for white hair, but simply gives it a delicate purple cast. The color intensity when mixed with other vegetable powders is stronger. Depending on the initial color of the hair and individual preferences, you can combine this powder with the other herbal hair colors by Phitofilos. Depending on the mix you can achieve shades of pink to dark red to copper and plum.
