Niyok Baby Scissors

The baby scissors are specially designed to gently and carefully trim the nails of little ones. They have a slightly curved cutting edge, a rounded tip and a nickel-free surface. The scissors are made from recycled C45 steel and have been ground by hand.

When and how to cut babies' nails

• A baby's nails can be trimmed around 5-7 weeks after birth, as the nails are still soft and the risk of injury when cutting is high.
• To prevent injury, use nail scissors only once the baby's nails have hardened slightly and are sharp enough for trimming.
• Ideally, cut the nails after bathing when they are slightly soaked.
• Be careful not to cut too much of the nail at once. Instead, make small, precise cuts to avoid accidentally injuring the baby.
• Trim your baby's fingernails in a slightly rounded shape to match the natural curve of the nail, and cut the toenails straight to prevent them from becoming ingrown.

• The Niyok scissors are primed with copper during production before the nickel-free surface coating is applied.
• After the scissors have been coated, they are finally sanded by hand to sharpen them.
• Because each pair of scissors is unique, the amount of sharpening required may vary, with some needing more and others less.
• As a result, the copper primer may become visible over time, giving the scissors a rust-like appearance.
• However, this is only the underlying copper and does not influence the quality, durability or sharpness.
