Tiger Grass (Centella)

Centella Asiatica (Pennywort) Extract, Centella Asiatica Flower/leaf/stem Extract

The green Brahmikraut, also known as Centella, belongs to the family Umbelliferae and is native throughout the tropics. When grown in moist soil it can be also cultivated at home. In Ayurvedic medicine, it is one of the most important medicinal plants - in the legends, a wounded Bengal tiger rolls in its leaves to stimulate wound healing. Hence the name "tiger grass". Tiger grass has antibacterial and wound-healing properties, prevents ulcers and reduces scarring. The veins are strengthened through the use of this plant extract. In skin care, it is particularly suitable for the care of mature skin as it promotes the regeneration of peripheral blood vessels and stimulates the skin's own collagen production. Also, eczematous, sore and burned skin benefits from the salutary effect of tiger grass. Problems of poor circulation clear up and dull skin gets a fresher look through the use of tiger grass.

Cosmetic properties:

  • has healing properties & is anti-bacterial
  • promotes the regeneration of peripheral blood vessels, particularly in pale skin
  • promotes the production of collagen, ideal for mature skin
  • can improve blood circulation, strengthens the veins, reduces scarring
