The Ecogarantie® certificate, created in 2004, is a Belgian label with an international reach. It belongs to the professional association Probila-Unitrab and is intended for non-food products: cosmetics, detergents, candles, repellents, etc.

This label is 100% independent and neutral, as the brands that it certifies are tested by three independent organisations: Certisys, TÜV Nord Integra and Quality Partner. It is both an ecological and an organic label, as its standards include control points for social and environmental factors as well as raw materials and packaging materials.

There is no requirement for a minimum percentage of natural ingredients, but 100% of the natural ingredients must come from organic farming.

Ecogarantie products are:

  • free from GMO and petrochemical derivatives
  • Free from animal testing - both in production and in the end products
  • free from raw materials of animal origin
  • free from nanomaterials
  • free from preservatives - unless there is no natural alternative
  • free from the use of certain types of plastics and certain other materials for packaging
